The woman in the picture frame is Yang Yuhuan(713-756), later to become Yang Guifei (high-ranked imperial concubine). She is one of the "Four Most Beautiful Women" in ancient China and also one of the few women whose beauty has caused the downfall of monarchs and nations, her love story and its tragic end have been a favorite theme for Chinese poets and writers. The Peking Opera named "Drunken Beauty(Guifei Zui Jiu)"is very famous in China and many Chinese artists have played the role of Yang Yuhuan. The appeartance of Yang Yuhuan in the picture frame is the right costume of this role in Peking Opera.
